…And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d have had to miss the dance

I was enjoying the quiet that night fall has again bestowed on me–always my favorite time–nighttime. The quiet had me thinking of this piece, As Valentine’s Day winds to a close, I thought this would be a good end to my day and thought I would share with you. This song was composed in 1890 by Claude Debussy and ranks up there with Beethoven, Bach, Chopin.(Share with someone you love, the “romance-meter” if off the charts.) Good night.

If you, if you could return,

don’t let it burn, don’t let it fade.

I’m sure I’m not being rude, but it’s just your attitude,
It’s tearing me apart, It’s ruining everything.

I swore, I swore I would be true, and honey, so did you.
So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand?
Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you?  Read more

Time it was

Time it was,

and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you

You ask me

if there’ll come a time
When I grow tired of you
Never my love
Never my love

You wonder if this heart of mine
Will lose its desire for you
Never my love
Never my love

What makes you think love will end
When you know that my whole life depends
On you (on you)

Never my love
Never my love

You say you fear I’ll change my mind
And I won’t require you
Never my love
Never my love

How can you think love will end
When I’ve asked you to spend your whole life
With me (with me, with me)

Clair de Lune – Claude Debussy

4 am. I woke to this playing in my head. It’s one of my favorite scores..It stirs in me.

I think I’ll loop it and let it put me back to sleep.

The third and most famous movement of Debussy’s Suite bergamasque

Go To Sleep Little Baby

This song is off the soundtrack from the movie ‘O, Brother, Where Art Thou?’ One of my favorite movies. It’s a “modern day” take on  Homer’s, Odyssey. This is my favorite lullaby and favorite scene in the movie…3 sirens at the river. (Sirens usually take on the form of mermaids) but these three river nymphs  posses the same powers where men are concerned.
I couldn’t find the video that included the movie scene (at least a decent recording.) This version is the best as far as vocals go. Enjoy. Good night.
